As some of you may know, I'm going to be writing an essay on Transsexualism for a class. I've been doing some hunting on my own then I realize that some of you might already have good academic links/articles/etc. that you could point me to for defining Transsexualism... things about what causes it, how it's diagnosed, treatments, and even things about the hardships we go through.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks so much Carol! Those were excellent starting points. I just finished my essay and am turning it in and doing my presentation tomorrow afternoon. I think I did a good job--I discussed the probable causes (as well as some of the old faulty ideas about the causes), I talked about the struggles we go through, and even dispelled did some work to dispel preconceptions about transsexual sexual orientation... we're not all homosexuals
Anyway, thanks again!
