E-Petition to stop transphobia in the media

  • April 13, 2013 11:38 AM BST

If you hate how the media loves reporting about the lives of trans people, how it ridicules and bullies us and holds us in contempt - all for more clicks per page leading to increased revenues.  It doesn't care about the lives it leaves ruined in its wake, just as long as it earns them a few extra pounds.

If you do, then please consider signing this e-petition to the UK Government:-

The smug nudge nudge wink wink style of almost everything reported belongs on a saucy postcard from the 50's! Even when it's another tragedy they still wheel the same old hackneyed garbage out. None of it does any of us any favours. Signed and shared.

    Hi Carol

It must be a UK thing. I can't say I've noticed much of it here. On the contrary, transsexuals appear on telly often enough in surprisingly more and more places. One week, our antiques show "Collectors" took us out to a see a collection by a transsexuaL. Prime time televison too and it hardly raised an eyebrow.

    Regards

    Hey Carol

Maybe you should add this advice to the OP:

You must be a British citizen or normally live in the UK to create or sign e-petitions.
