I went to see Iron Maiden the other week at the Westphalenhalle in Dortmund. Brilliant show as always. The best part though was that I went out as me and not in Drab. I figured that everyone would be too excited and caught up in the gig to pay any attention to one person out of 15000. Guess I was right. I had a bit of a moment when I reached security but the girl didn't bat an eyelid. Trust me, I'm not that convincing, I think it was more a case of trying to get through everyone that prevented her from further scrutiny.
What did I wear? Well, I wanted to wear my low waisted leather jeans because they were more practical but decided that would be cheating so I opted for a leather mini skirt and boots, Maiden top (of course) and a femme denim jacket.
Can't tell you how nervous I was, those of you who have been there will know the feeling, but after being inside for about 20 minutes, I completely relaxed. As I'd hoped, everyone was too pre-occupied to pay any attention. One the show started I actually forgot I was dressed and had to be careful not to give it away with my singing!!!
Anyway, it was great fun and reflecting on it during the drive home had convinced me that I must do something similar again.
