The waiting game begins again

Okay, to keep it short about the interview....

My mom rented a car for me to take to the interview. The college is less than 200 miles away, so flying there is a stupid idea. It's quicker to drive. The scenery was nice, and the town was, too. I got to the hotel early but they let me take the room right away. I had a note from the department chair waiting for me. We played phone tag. I thought they'd be taking me out for dinner. They didn't - they had no idea I'd be in so early. Hey, no big deal. I had dinner, drove around the area, etc.

The next day I met the Dean first. What is it about academic deans that make them so damn boring? I got a good idea what my salary will be, if hired. Nice! Then came my presentation to the committee. I think I was shaky at first and then settled in. The technology in the classroom didn't work. That didn't matter since I was just projecting some maps and they already had printed ones in the room. They liked my handouts, too. Then came the questions period, which I feel I aced. I guess I must feel I did fine since I'm not berating myself like I always do after an interview. I got a tour of the campus (beautiful scenery!), then two of them took me to lunch across the Mississippi into Iowa. The chair didn't go because he had a family emergency. We got along great. We were actually a bunch of goofballs. It was nice to have both an intellectual conversation with my peers (that I could NEVER have had at Backstabber), while making endless jokes. Afterwards I headed home. I guess it went well. Now I wait.

Sunday I just had to call Anna-Marie and Tressa, taking a huge chance with both calls. But I had to hear their voices. I know only two other numbers from TW girls, so I can't spend much time talking to anyone.
