My kid is watching The Sound of Music right now for the first time. She loves it. Well, who doesn't?
In my last blog I mentioned how that book came out in which I contributed two chapters. I just found out that the same publishing firm is looking for editors on another series. I got ahold of the contact person, who is at the University of Southern California, and expressed my interest in either the Jazz Era volume (the time period in which I have done a lot of work) or the Great Depression. The Great Depression was already taken, which is fine with me, but it looks like they're going to give me the Jazz Era book! It pays great, and I'll have another book title to my name. Sure, I'm the editor, but I'll write for it as well. So soon I'll be able to list two books on my resume, in addition to all those articles I've done. I'm waiting for another person to contact me with the details. Now what I have to do is line up authors for the other chapters.
Although the production schedule is about 18 months, it's still a nice feeling to know I got it.
