May I sit down here and learn today

She left for her trip. Yes, it's part of her job. She is not a marriage counselor. She works in Child Support, and she obtained a grant as part of a federal Healthy Marriage program which promotes healthy families to produce good kids. So she had to attend this conference. I would have gone if we had the money to pay my way. I know she misses me, to a point, yet is glad to have a day or two away. Can I blame her? As for my STUPID comment about her going out dancing (which I admit was a mistake), that was just my insecurities talking. I really am proud of her. Every now and then we do PreCana workshops. If you want to get married in the Catholic church you need to take this little program. We've done it several times and liked it.

Let's just see what happens when she comes home.

If I was to get a call right now from THE WORLD'S GREATEST UNIVERSITY to spend a month there as a lecturer she'd be packing my bags and telling me to go knock 'em dead. She would support me.

Five years ago I got a million dollar grant for this company I worked for. The boss took all the credit for herself and then fired me before anyone found out that I was the one who did it. I can prove this in a court of law, but the law here won't let me win.

On Monday something interesting happened. I wrote about this in the forum already so I'll be brief. I got an e-mail from a top name in the labor history field. Apparently I'm getting to be quite well known. Him and his buddies - top names in all - are producing a work, and they hunted me down. They pretty much got down on their knees and begged me to write for them for this new work. He gave his home number, so I called and spoke to him. What a sense of humor he has! He was great! Apparently they've been looking for me. Girls, I'm building a reputation! I don't have any money, this won't pay for a while, and the courts are closing in, but it could happen! I already signed the contract.

I'm not into Steven Spielberg movies, but I love "Jurassic Park." In my drab life I always identified with Dr. Alan Grant - played wonderfully by Sam Neill. When he was referred to as a "top mind," I always wanted that for myself.

    Sorry, just rambling.
