Yes, I did vote today.
I know, what is an Anarchist doing voting at all? It’s my little "f’ you" message to the Republican party. Make that as you will.
I wanted to make sure I left an impression at the polling place. I was starting to get all dolled up, including my wig. As I mentioned before, I live in a somewhat conservative area, although it has been changing lately. Maybe I just wanted to shake them up a little. But I thought that if I showed up too much as Meredith, and they demanded a photo I.D. on top of my registration card I could be courting trouble. So I just kept in my earrings and had on light makeup. Of course, I don’t think they were too thrilled. Or, at least the men weren’t (who cares?). And, yes, I did speak a little French when I was in there.
I did have to remember that it is always a good idea to know where I’m going. For some reason I thought the polling place was by the train station, just a short walk away. But since I had some other errands to run I thought I’d take the car. I got my addresses mixed up, and as I pulled out I see the polling place all right – it was right next to my building on the other side of the parking lot. No big deal. I still needed the car.
I am shooting for getting my blood work done this week. I see the endo at the end of the month.
This is also a big CONGRATULATIONS to Sarah Jenkins for doing her SRS. I am both happy and jealous (jealous in a good way). I did ask Lexi before if she wanted me to forestall my transitioning and she said no; she wanted me to pursue it.
I almost outed myself to my class yesterday. I was making a comment about a living history museum where you can actually don the outfits of the people who would have lived there during the 1800s. I distinctly remembered almost putting on the farm wife’s dress before remembering my kid was there. The class thought I was joking. I better be careful for now since I want to be hired back next term.
The bank account is dwindling, but at least at this time next week I will be working at the museum. I am pretty excited about that.
So, going full-time may be coming sooner than I thought.
