Within a few short days I managed to inflict a variety of injuries upon myself.  Here they are:

I did miss four days of work, with a trip to the doctor's office, because of a bad case of strep.  I was able to make up some time, thanks to my understanding bosses.  But that meant I was racing to make sure I didn't lose too much in the way of finances.  With the move to the new apartment, I was not able to take off any more time, nor was I able to rent a small truck.  I spent 4 days, and 5 trips, loading up the Dirty Bird and moving myself in day by day.

In the process I managed to literally bruise my arms and legs from top to bottom!  I looked like I was in a fight!  But it was all worth it.  I love this place.  I have the most incredible view of Lake Michigan, which is literally across the street from me.  The drawback?  Bad parking, miniscule kitchen, and it is a lot more dangerous to be Mere here than in the old place.

Here's the really funny stuff - I volunteered to play on the Guest Services department softball team against the ASRs.  By the end of the third inning I managed to severely strain the hamstrings in BOTH legs (in terms of brevity I will leave out the play-by-play events). On Sunday I had on one of my cutest short skirts and looked down to see the back of my legs all deeply bruised (after a week!).  Lexi told me that a deep bruise can take a while to surface.  My legs are still sore!  And the bruises are still there!  I had some very painful days at work.

Until some of this soreness goes down I am not shaving my legs.  That makes me cry!

I have been rewarded with a Saturday off by my bosses.  I will pat myself on the back here - I have been doing some incredible work at the museum.  One of our major exhibits fell behind two days in a row, so they put me in charge of the U-505.  I turned it around completely and put it back on track.  Upper management was very impressed and said so in a few meetings.

Me and Lexi are hoping to meet up VERY soon.  Our plans are for early September.  That actually works out great as the museum will no longer be on the extended summer hours.

I finally got my cable reconnected, and I am no longer re-establishing a land line, using my cell phone for all calls now.  The company told me I can make and receive international calls. I got a good deal to get DSL through the cable company.  They wanted to charge me about $90 to hook up the DSL for me.  Looking to save the money, I managed to do it myself just fine.  Go figure.

    Okay, back to the insanity!
