Blood, bravery and recognition

I had the follow-up with my doctor the other day.  The good news?  My blood work came back just great, including my liver results.  That means, again, HRT is a possibility.  My blood pressure is down, but my cholesterol is still high.  That was no surprise.  He is trying some new meds on me for the cholesterol, which generally produce some, shall we say, "interesting" side effects.

At the musuem we were all required to take those hilarious harrassment training courses.  While I certainly feel for those who are victims of workplace harrassment, these training videos are a scream.  When the topic of gender came up, I raised my hand:

"I know there have been some changes in the law, but what about those who are transgendered?"

While his answer lumped us TG folks under the protetion banner of "sexual orientation," I learned how protected I would be when I start the full transition.  I did not come fully out at the meeting, though.  That was neither the time nor place.  Besides, there are some people I should tell privately first before making a general announcement.  A coworker IMd me later in the day to tell me how brave she thought I was (needless to say, she knows about me).

Then, at the morning meeting, I was once again recognized by management for my hard work.  Apparently upper management said something to my team leaders, and they passed it down.  Now, if only that translated into more money.

Josie ordered us some new rings.  Wow.
