Girls, in my last blog just two days ago I wrote about that harrassment training I had to go through, and how I asked a question about what legal protections trasngendered persons have.
Apparently, this has literally sent the museum into a tizzy!
My friend Kelly - who does know about me (hell, I gave her one of my skirts and a dress!) - called me yesterday. She had some good news concerning herself (she was hired as an assistant manager at a live production theatre), and then said to me:
"What did you do at that training yesterday?"
Wherever she went, people were talking about what I said, and wondering what it meant. There is all this talk going on about me! People are now wondering if I'm gay (well, yes, I am a lesbian as I do date Josie), am I a CD, etc. Nobody has yet to ask me directly. This is great! I love it!
This means all the more that I am now going to sit down with my senior coordinator and managers and tell them what is going on. It has to be done sooner or later, and I am going to make it sooner.
Not bad for someone who, just three years ago, was sleeping on an old basement couch and about to start slinging popcorn in a movie theatre.
As for Karen Brad's most recent blog, I, too, do not like this current bickering. But one thing did cross my mind - every now and then we go through a purge like this, then things settle down and it's back to the insanity. While I dislike any sort of fighting, a group of people who hang out like we do will eventually get on each other's nerves. I just hope this one passes quickly.
