Monday 2hrs after we start work. Transformer blows complete loss of power. Edison says it can't send anyone out for at least 72hrs. We would be closing auto companies in north east states. Can't do that!!
Worked untill 6am rewiring plant to generators. Hrs worked 17.5. Went home showerd, went to bed. 3hrs sleep generators shut down. Called back in. 6hrs to get back power than start my shift another 9hrs. Go home at 11pm.
Called back in at 4:30 am. Other tech called in sick. Edison showes up makes repairs. Rewire plant again. Back at full power. Allmost. Backup batteries failed in some robots. Programs lost. I have all programs on a disk. Reload time 2hrs. I told them I was going home. They said I had to work my shift. The union said I can go after 8hrs. Plant Super comes in & says if I want to leave I had the right & offerd me extra day off with pay.
Today I do nothing, not answering phone if it rings. Not going out the door. Over a 3 day period I had 4hrs sleep twice. Slept 10 straight lastnight. Feel better. I did pop in here a couple of times but not for long.
This company will use a person up. I like my job & I except the responsabilaty that goes with it. But at times it is more than I can handle. Not hard on the body but the mental strain can be tuff.
I'm sure I'll feel more like myself in a couple hrs. So logging off for a little while. Right after I start a morning thread. Which no one did yesterday!!!
