LGBT+ religion

Oh my, where does the time go? Two months since I was last here!

There's a simple answer to that one. Ariane had a cycling accident and broke a bone in her hand. Now in a cast, and bandaged. It is neither practical nor beautiful to wear a dress in these circumstances. So I have to wait until my body returns to normal. Not long to go now. I am missing it very much though.

This happened while Ariane was in boy mode. Obviously. It would never have happened to Ariane in a dress, because Ariane would never go cycling in a dress. The lesson is to wear a dress more often, to reduce the risk of physical injury.

I could not help reading this article on today's Guardian website. Data from the 2021 Census shows that LGBT+ people are over-represented in minority religions (mainly Paganism) and Buddhism compared to the population as a whole, but under-represented in Christianity. The reasons are obvious. Paganism has many gods and there is no one right way. Buddhism has no gods and is more of a modern ethical system. In either case, gender identity is irrelevant and everyone is welcome. In contrast, many Christian churches regard alternative or same-sex relationships as sinful, and treat the LGBT+ community as second-class citizens. So it's no surprise that the community goes where it feels at home.

I am a member of a Christian church (although I do find Buddhist ethics very attractive). THe main reason is that this particular church is highly inclusive and goes out of its way to make LGBT+ people welcome. Definitely a minority approach though.
