  I am a member of a WhatsApp group called Run the Wall. This is a group of runners, cyclists and other athletes who stand in solidarity with Palestine and occasionally take part in sporting events, marches etc to draw attention to what's happening there and raise money for relief work. It's a lively chat and there are about 200 members.

  Why am I telling you this? Because today Ariane was brave enough to come out to the entire group as trans and post a picture. The reaction has been wonderful and completely supportive. eg "Lovely to meet you Ariane. I'm glad you wanted to be your real self with us." Makes me so happy. I celebrated by ordering some new Pleaser high heel ankle boots off the internet. Not sure I'll be running anywhere in those…
