June,
Congrats, things are going very well for you and I am pleased it is making you happy.
On a more general theme, a person of any looks/type cannot be refused entry to public premises in the UK based on sex, colour, etc. They can only really be refused if it is likely to cause some sort of "trouble". So if you have the "balls" you can go most anywhere.
The reaction of other people varies in proportion to how "startling" you look. As long as you fit into the range of "acceptable" female appearance most people don't bother to worry. As far as the voice goes talking quietly can sometimes help with moderating it's sound.
Keep on keeping on! The more we go out the more acceptable we become.

Hi Jan
Thanks for your support.
There is one place I will not go to en femme and that is JobCentrePlus. They have told me that they will always call out my male name because that is what I'm registered with them as. When I asked to change it they told me that they only use the name that goes with my National Insurance Number. To get that changed means changing my name by deed poll and I won't do that until a decision is made for me by the psychiatrist.

Mine very often are red. Today they are a metallic purple. I often try nail varnish out on toe nails to see what it looks like. Afterall you can leave it on down there to see if you get used to it. My finger nails are quite often just clear because I don't need to remove it on the occassions I need to be in drab.

Pink is my favorite for nails. Although I have started to see if I can get nail polish to match some of my outfits. (All except my black dress).

I thought I'd give a bit of an update on my going out dressed. On Friday I had a doctors appointment and attended as Alina and was pleased to be congratulated on my turnout by the doctor. He also informed me that I should soon have my appointment with the psychiatrist.
From the doctors to the shopping centre and a walk around there before heading home. Once home I changed to male mode for an afternoons work. After work and dinner I changed back to Alina and went for a drink with my partner. On this occassion Belinda stayed in male mode and we went out as a couple. It was a nice time in a pub that we don't normaly use. Especially when no comments are heard.
On Saturday afternoon I had to go to the shops so went in Alina mode again. I now think that my visits to the shops will always be as Alina not as Alan.

Hi Karen
Yes things are moving along very nicely, apart from slipping over on the way home from the bank this morning.
So it is definitely shopping all the time as Alina now and not Alan.
Also I now have my appointment to see the psychiatrist about my gender transition. It is on December 2nd so I'm feeling a lot better in myself now.

I like something lighter or softer realy. Red is to bold it makes my hands stick out to much. I don't like anything bold.

Sounds as though things are moving along nicely. I would love to spend a day out shopping as Karen. But to cowardly I guess.
Going back over this thread I see I said I didn't like bold colours. Funny I have been buying more shades of red lately.
