Today has'nt been one of the best days for me. For weeks now, my grandfather has not been well at all & his GP gave him only 2 weeks to live. This morning i got the sad news that he'd passed away in his sleep this morning, fortunately my mum and dad were with him at the time which was good. It wasn't unexpected, but still a shock to hear about it. I'll not be going to the funeral ( not because i don't want to) but because it'll ease the pressure on my dad, because on the day he will help to carry the coffin into the church. But at least i will still get to pay my respects in my own way which i guess is better than not being able to. The next few days are gonna be tough for everyone, but if we all pull together then we'll get through it ok, & if i'm not myself then you'll all know why.

Things are progressing so fast i've not had time to breathe here. Earlier this week i went to see the CAB ( Citizens Advice Bureau) about the possibility of bringing a claim of discrimination against the hotel, manager & bouncer for they way they treated me. The CAB put me onto a solicitor, so i went to see them. The Girl i spoke to was genuinely appalled by what happened to me & said i have a VERY strong case for taking action, but because her firm wasn't specialized in this kind of thing( i was a 1st for them) she put me in touch with the equalities & Human rights peeps. In the last 2 days they really have been a great help to me, giving me all the necessary information i need. I'm now in the process of drafting a formal letter of complaint which i have to send to the hotel along with a questionnaire that needs filling in. This, they have to reply to within 21 days because if they do NOT......i go to the County Court & pick up an N1 form. I fill it in & return it to the court, they will then send out a letter saying that the case is going to court. If this does happen then it really doesn't bother me in the slightest cos i feel i'm standing up for what i believe in. If it stops another girl going through what i have had to go through, it'll all have been worth it. There's still a way to go in the case, but believe me this girl is more than ready to fight her corner. WATCH THIS SPACE!!!

This girl aint quitting without one hell of a fight.....believe me i have a few things i can do. Firstly, i know the MD of the  company who owns the hotel & a few others. He just HATES bad publicity so pretty soon he's gonna be getting a formal letter of complaint about the manager of one of his hotels.....this MAY even get him the boot for his blatant transphobic attitude.  secondly, i can write & appeal against the caution on my record as i had not done anything to warrant it, this i damn well AM gonna do asap. I have taken some advice & Technically that chap had the right to ask me to leave for whatever reason he saw fit BUT the way he did it & the way he handled things was nothing short of a complete disgrace ( tis what duty solicitor said). One other thing, through the voluntary work i do, i know a local JP quite well so i'm going to ask his advice on how to proceed with matters regarding the police. There may not be much i can do against them & if that is the case then at least i gave it my best shot!

Had a better day t0day, but yesterday something happened whilst i was out and i have NEVER been as scared as i was......truly awful it was. I'd been out at our annual 2 day air-show & popped into a local hotel( the HATFIELD) to have a drink & use the ladies loos which i'd done several times before with no problems. I'd done the same this time, been to the loo & was going back to the bar when this person ( manager)  asked if he could have a word. He said to me, " do you cross-dress"...& i said i lived like this for 4 yrs. He said that peeps had complained to him about me using the ladies, so i said " where am i supposed to go?" to which he replied " Use the gents". I said " Theres no way i'm using them".....next thing i know he's in my face sayin " get out of my hotel" but i refused as i had done nothing wrong. He stormed 0ff & got a bouncer who asked me to go but i said no as i hadn't done anythin wrong. This bouncer then proceeded to THROW me out of the hotel door, my wig went flying & i was left in a heap on the floor. It then got much WORSE when the police saw what had happened & they consequently arrested ME even though i was the victim of some quite blatant trans-phobic abuse. They kept me in a cell for almost 7 hrs..i tell you i have never EVER been so scared in all my life. It was 10:30 before i was released with a caution. it was either i accept that or it would have gone to court which i didnt want. Consequently, i now have a record and its totally FK'D up my employment prospects which are now Zero. All this because some arrogant homophobic sh*ts took exception to me using the loo's. There is one option i have which i'm gonna take & that is, i know a local judge ( through the voluntary work i do). i'm going to speak to him & see whether i could sue the hotel for discrimination. I'm not sure it'll work but its gotta be worth a try. After all, i was only trying to live my life as best i can & i get all this sh*t which i did NOT deserve!!

OMG.....is it really april since i last blooged, better put that right hadn't i?. Well, nothins really changed since last time..i'm still doing the same old things like tryin to find work &  saving hard for sparkle ( only 4 weeks away now). The work situation is gettin me down because wherever i try its the same old story , thanks but no thanks. All i want is for someone to give me a chance. Feeling rather down, i decided to cheer myself up by buying a new dress for sparkle.....& i got myself a real nice one in red for only £23!!. Had i got it anywhere else it would've been well over £40 so i'm well pleased with it. What with the new heels too, i have the perfect outfit for sparkle so i'm very happy with myself.

Just so you know, i haven't dropped off the face of the planet...just not had much to blog about until now. I've been busy accumulating things for when i go to sparkle in june......new frocks, shoes & the like. These things just gotta be done. The FUN part & part thats p*ssed me off most is the useless train company( east midlands trains), & the fact i've been told so many lies regarding their advance ticket sales. Instead of it costing me £38 like it did last year, this year i'll be lookin at well over £100!!. i'd been told the cheaper tickets  hadn't been released yey...but when i called back a few days later, i was told that they HAD been released but every sungle one of them had sold out!!. I was not best pleased to hear that, so rather than miss out altogether i had to buy the next cheapest ticket which was £67 ONE WAY. But at least now i have one which is good, one good thing to come out of this was the fact that both my mum & dad gave me £40 each to help towards the cost of travel. I had been saving what i could since last year (.£240), But this extra £80 has been a real bonus & its going to help a great deal cos i intend to have the best sparkle EVER!

I couldn't have wished for a better Birthday today.....the whole day has been truly amazing.Once i'd waded through the masses of cards this morning( well 8 anyway) i decided to hit the shops big-time. Bought 2 tops, a CD by Nickelback & a Webcam amongst other things. By the time i'd finished walkin for what seemed like miles i was tired out. Got home tired & laden with bags but i was happy with what i bought myself. This afternoon my broadband stuff came so i'm all set up for that, but what touched me the most was finding the happy Birthday thread in the forums. The fact that so many girls here think that much of me truly is a humbling experience & somethin that i wont ever forget. Thats just capped off what has for me been the bestest Birthday ever!

like the title says.....i'm back, albeit on limited time but thats all changing in the next week or so when my broadband connection becomes active. Then i will be back tae ma old self, chatting until the wee small hours just like i usually do. This is gonna benefit me in a big way, tis just a damn shame all this business with aol has pushed me into a decision like this. A decision DEFINETLY for the better as far as i'm concerned.
